Service Description

Equipment included: Kayak, paddle, buoyancy aid, helmet, wetsuit What you’ll need: Old shoes that can get wet, swimming costume, drink, sun cream, warm jacket for after. Activity Description: The session will be pitched at your level. You will be taken through a full safety brief and your welfare will be our top priority. Our qualified sea kayak guides will lead you through a journey and you will be invited to explore rocks, beaches and islands. The wildlife is abundant here and although sightings cant be guaranteed, its very common to see sea eagles, seals, otters, puffins, arctic terns, great skuas, sea urchins, star fish, jellyfish and sometimes even dolphins! After the activity you are invited to grab a warm shower and a hot drink at the centre. Booking here is for a standard morning or afternoon trip. If the weather forecast is challenging- an inland loch will be offered as an alternative option. We also run a range of longer tours and expeditions. The trips we offer will be based upon the hopes and aims of the client or group. Skills and experience will be taken into account during the planning stages. The Western Isles have a very changeable climate and although the tide speeds are not as fast as some other areas in the U.K. we are fully exposed to the Atlantic swells and wind. Examples of trips and tours include: -Full day tours, built around the aims of the client e.g. wildlife, island bagging, navigation, skills, fitness, fishing and campcraft. -South Harris Kayak Circumnavigation (Three to four days) -Shiant Islands tour (Two days) There are a whole range of other options available to us here.
